Hi everyone, my name is Natasha and I'm your equalities officer for 2023-24
I'm passionate about creating a more inclusive and accessible campus for all students. I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
I'm a first-generation University student, and I know firsthand the challenges that students from marginalized communities face. That's why I'm committed to working with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus where everyone feels like they belong.
What I Do
As your equality officer, I'll be working on implementing policies and initiatives to make our campus more homelike for international as well as domestic students.
I'll be:
- Advocating for policies that protect students from discrimination.
- Help set up training for students on diversity, inclusion, and mental wellbeing.
- Creating safe spaces for students to discuss their experiences with discrimination.
- Working to increase the visibility of students, especially marginalized groups on campus.
Why I Ran for the role?
I want to create a community where everyone feels like they belong, regardless of their background or identity. I believe that we can make our campus warmer and welcoming by working together. I'm excited to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus where everyone feels valued.
